Fall Vibes and a Hodgepodge

Fall Vibes, Fall Inspirations
and a Fall HODGEPODGE...

Joyce asks the Questions.

We answer the Questions.

1.  Fall officially rolls into the Northern Hemisphere on Monday(9/22)...what's your favorite thing about fall"

I do have several favorites about Fall, but the thing that stands out to me this morning is the cooler temps and a nice Fall mug filled with coffee, hot chocolate, or spiced tea.

2.  What's one thing on your real or proverbial autumn bucket list?

I would love to travel to Maine to see all of the Fall foliage.  While I know this is not going to happen this year, I still plan to keep this trip at the top of my bucket list.

I can only imagine in my mind, the coolness of the mornings, the rushing rivers and the stunning colors of the leaves.

3.  Apples, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, butternut squash and cranberries are some of the top fall foods.  Which one is your favorite and how to you like it prepared? Any on the list you don't eat? Which one have you had most recently?

This would be a close race between the sweet potatoes and the butternut squash.  I would gladly settle for either of these...baked with brown sugar on top and yes...butter!

I actually enjoy each of these Fall foods.  I did have cranberries and almonds yesterday, so I guess my answer is cranberries!!

4.  "Fall is proof that change is beautiful" is a popular sentiment. Would you agree or no? Elaborate.

I couldn't agree more that fall is proof that change is beautiful.  The way the season transforms the world around us is a gentle reminder that endings can be just as breathtaking as beginnings.
I love how the trees release their leaves in a cascade of gold, crimson, and amber, showing us that letting go can create a masterpiece.
Ooooo...I also love how the air turns crisp as it invites us to slow down and wrap ourselves in cozy layers of sweaters and blankets....while enjoying a cup of something warm.
For me....Fall whispers that change is not something to resist but something to embrace.  I love the huge promise that new beginnings are just around the corner.

5.  Is there a spot near you where people go to see the leaves change colors?  Will you try to leaf peep somewhere this Fall? Lonely planet lists the following ten places as the best for leaf peeping....of those listed which would you most like to visit?

Stowe, Vermont-Shenandoah National Park, Virginia-Columbia river Gorge, Oregon-Zion National Park, Utah-Tennessee/North Carolina border-West Virginia-Northwestern Wyoming-Wisconsin Northwoods-NortherNevada-Ozark Highlands Scenic Byway, Arkansas.

My girlfriends have a trip planned to visit Branson Mo is just a few weeks.  We will travel the Highlands Scenic Byway in Arkansas to get to our destination.  Looking so forward to this trip and being able to view all the beauty that the Fall leaves will give us..

6.  Insert your own random thought here.

My Random thought.....I don't really go all out for Halloween, but I just couldn't resist adding this adorable Rae Dunn cup to my collection.  It says "Boo to you" and somehow it just makes me smile every time I see it....🎃👻

This cup has the right mix of cute and festive without being over the top.  I may not decorate with cobwebs and skeletons, but a sweet little cup like this makes me feel happy.  Besides....who doesn't love sipping coffee or tea out of a seasonal mug that just adds a spark of joy to the day. Sometimes...as we all know, it's the smallest things that make the biggest smiles..

Enjoy some wonderful Fall Vibes..

  1. Your 'sweater weather' cup looks like a Rae Dunn collection too. I'm glad you got some cooler weather this morning, Shug. Cranberries are the best! I love them in pastries and breads. The cranberry and cream cheese toast looks amazing. While Maine is on your list of travels, I have always wanted to visit the beautiful state of Vermont. I heard it's so pretty at wintertime. All your Fall goodies around the house are delightful, Shug. Enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea in your new ghost cup. I think I mentioned before that I love your Header pic. The lights and foliage draping around the white pumpkin really adds a special touch. : )

  2. That is such a cute mug, Shug, and I can see why it gives you so much cheer when you drink out of it. Sometimes, as we both know, changes are hard to take, but I do love that fall tells us that change is inevitable and that there is beauty in it, too. Thanks so much, too, for the update on Sam's dad, too. That's good news! I'll continue to pray. Blessings!

I wish I was more into the squash food group. I will eat it but its not on my go to plan. Cranberries YES. I do love them in breads and sauce with everything ... yum.
Your cups are so cute. the "Boo" one is perfect.
I would love to go to Vermont and Maine this time of year. Dave has taken tour groups there when we were in the tour business. I never made it there. Boo!

  4. I have wanted to go to Maine in the fall for so many years now. Can you even imagine how awesome it would be? We do not decorate or celebrate Halloween, except for handing out the candy. But I do celebrate, decorate and love fall! Love the adorable mug!!

  5. I would love to go out east to see the Fall colors there. We have a weekend trip planned to northern MI in a few weeks and I hope the color is good then.
I just bought pumpkins and gourds to decorate my porch and will be working on that this afternoon. I'm not a fan of Halloween, so we stick to Fall and Thanksgiving decorating.
