Toad'ly Freezin

WEll....the weather guy is reporting "dangerous" temps for our area.  And honestly, for those of us who live in Texas, this might be true...  We are not prepared for low temps in the teens.

Most of us don't even own coats or winter clothing to keep us warm in freezing cold weather.

I just went out to crank my car to let it warm up before I have to get out in the bitter cold.
Heading to the Chiropractor this morning!!

Hoping he can help me with this sciatic nerve issue that I have going on.
Then, it is lunch with friends today...
We chose the Mexican restaurant here in town.

🏀🏀🏀

We had a big WIN with the Mylee's Basketball game last evening.
This weekend, we will be headed "Somewhere here in TEXAS" for another playoff game.

Other news:
Our Colorado kiddos are all sick.  They are running fever, sore throats, cough and all the crud, BUT.....tested negative for Flu, Strep, and Covid.
There must be some kind of new flu going around that doctor's don't have a test for.
This has happened with so many people in our area as well...  Sick with the same symptoms but yet they test negative for the flu.

I feel like a new woman today.....had a hair appointment yesterday.  Hair cut, some highlights, and my horrible roots were made new.

Not really complaining here, just speaking the truth...  Sam and I stopped at Subway for a sandwich before Mylee's game last evening.
I ordered a turkey and pepper jack cheese melt sandwich.
After taking the turkey (with the cheese melted on it) OFF...I ended up having a veggie sandwich.
No one's fault but mine. Why did I order turkey in the first place?  I don't really like turkey!!
Senior moment I suppose.

Y'all keep warm...keep your socks on....and bundle up.

"The coldest Winter cannot freeze the warmth of a loving heart."

Shug.....

  2. Those are cold temps for Texas. Bundle up and stay warm. The turkey and pepper jack cheese melt actually sounds really good! So sorry to hear your Colorado family is sick with the nasty bug. And I do hope the chiropractor could help you with your sciatic nerve pain. Mexican restaurants are always fun and festive, and the food delicious. I love that little birdy picture with the hot coffee. Sipping on my coffee and reading my favorite blogs. : ) Have a sweet day, Shug.

  3. I envisioned you bent over cranking your model T ford. lol
My husband was tested and I have what he has - it’s just a nasty virus we caught in ER. Just 🤢 gross. They need to divide up the ER waiting room - well patient and sick patient. Those there with broken arms, and the likes shouldn’t have to sit next to someone barfing into a bag.

Now that I’ve totally grossed you out - I don’t have real cold weather clothes either. I do have one wool full length coat I drag out and wear maybe once a year. It weighs like 5 lbs but is very warm.

Have fun with your friends. The chiropractor should be able to help over a course of treatment. It worked for me.

  4. Hope your chiropractor appointment helped, Shug, and it's wonderful that Mylee's team won yet again! Yes, there seems to be something other than Covid or flu going around these parts, too. We're trying to keep our hands clean and limit the places we go as of late. Blessings!

I agree on having one's hair done can do wonders. I need a do-update desperately...
Ummm...Mexican food can help anything that ails you... (:0)

  7. It's been a crazy weather situation all over. Yesterday as we drove to my appt it was -1 degrees. Today it made it to 16. Our son in KY called last night, said they were supposed to get 7 inches of snow and everything was closing today. Hurry Spring!
I hope your chiropractor appt went well!

  8. I had no idea that Texans don't usually have winter coats! I hope the Mexican restaurant food really warms you up! It's good news that your family did not test for anything bad, hopefully it will run it's course soon; they must be miserable. What is your temperature now? Gosh, I hope your sciatica does not hurt all the time! we both have back problems. I cannot stand for very long, neither can Phil.

  9. are you sure it is your sciatic nerve? as in a diagnosis? there are other things it might be. we don't own coats either. I have one hoody and a couple of sweaters and rarely use them until this year, I wore the hoody for past almost 3 months to walk Beau. usually wear that about 10 times a year. hope it doesn't get as cold as they say... laughing hard at the veggie sandwich story... senior moment! ha ha

  10. Hi Shug! I was by early this morning and you hadn't posted yet, so I wanted to make sure I stopped by again this evening. I'm sorry that you are having such cold temperatures. Bundle up the best you can before heading out. Hope that the chiropractor was able to help you today. And that you had something yummy at the Mexican restaurant with your friends today.

  11. Hi Shug~ I'm so sorry you are dealing with cold weather! We are having really mild weather compared to our norms. There is nothing better than a good haircut! Hope you had a great lunch with your friends. When it's cold and miserable, you need to have some good food, and a lot of fun with friends! Hugs and Love, Barb

  13. Between chiropractic care and your new hair "do", I hope you're feeling like a million dollahs this evening! We're turning wicked cold again, but have little recourse but to bundle up and start wearing our masks once more. I hope your Colorado kids get to feeling better real soon!

  14. It sounds like you have a good plan for dealing with the chilly temps.

  15. I know what you mean by Texans not being prepared for this crazy cold. I am a native Texan living in Oklahoma and even here in NE Oklahoma we are ill prepared for the snow and ice. Our weather is much like Texas with the exception of a few excruciatingly cold days every year. Of course, we have more cloudy days in winter but nothing like we've had this year. I am done and really need to move "back home"! LoL, we've only been in Oklahoma for 28 years but it's still not home!

I pray the Chiropractor helped with your pain.

    Grace & Peace,
    Pam

  16. Doesn't it feel good to become a new woman? lol
That same crud is going around here too Shug.
The same weather too - it is cold. I don't really even have a winter coat per say.
    Glad Mylee won.
Hope the chiropractor can help with your sciatica.
    Stay warm girl.

  19. Oh my, your getting our kind of weather with those temps. We're used to it but it's still no fun. I did the same with my car yesterday. I hadn't left the house in a week and had to let the ice melt off the windshield before I could go.
Hope everyone gets over whatever they have and are feeling better soon

Hoping your Colorado Babies feel better Soon!
