It most definitely is a cold morning!
16 degrees.......Brrrrr. Not to worry though because next week our temps will be in the upper 70's.
My visit to the chiropractor proved to be a good visit. Turns out that the left side of my body was weighing a good 20 pounds more than my right side. No wonder my hip and leg was hurting. I had a good adjustment and I can see improvement.
The great thing is......this visit ending up costing me $0 dollars. I had a credit on my account from 2023 and didn't even know it.
Like over $200.00 in credit.
My Colorado kids ended up having to go back to the ER because they have been so sick...
This time, the test came back positive for Flu.
Please lift them up in prayer.
This has been a busy week full of appointments and I actually have 2 more today. Sam also has an appointment today with our family doctor, for a check-up.
I just heard on the news that today is "Love your pet day."
We don't have any pets, so I'll send love to all of yours.
I rode to the farm with Sam this past Tuesday afternoon... What you see here is the ROAD that leads to the back part of the Land.
Here we are driving through the water!!!
We have had soooo much rain which has made huge puddles/ponds on the dirt path.
This pecan tree made me laugh. This tree, along with many others at the farm are used for graft wood. The new growth is cut back and used for grafting the new pecan trees.
This old barn at the farm has seen better days. It is no longer used, but it still stands.
strong.
I LOVE old barns!
I hope something wonderful happens in your life today....
Shug.....
I was so glad to read that your trip to the Chiropractor was successful! And not having to pay was even better! I'm sorry about your Colorado family. I'm glad they went back to the ER and were tested again. I have a friend who worked for a county health department a few years ago and she always said that if you are sick and test negative the first time, wait two or three days and test again and more than likely you will test positive. Praying for your family.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing about the ride out to the farm. That's some serious water going there. And I love old barns too. I grew up on a dairy farm here in West Virginia and I think that's part of the reason I enjoy old barns so much.
Have a wonderful Thursday, dear One. xx
Yay for having a successful visit to the Chiro! (I'd love that but they're reluctant to work on my back b/c of the osteoporosis.)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I adore old barns! I've not thought about it in years, but my father 'helped' (ha) me with a 4th grade Science Fair project -- grafting! I don't claim to understand it, but the process is fascinating.
I'm honored to continue prayers for your Colorado family, and our girls say "Thank you" for the love!
I loved these photos you shared here, Shug. I love old barns, too. So glad to hear that your visit to the chiropractor went so well and was free to boot! Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your visit to the chiropractor was a good one.
ReplyDeleteI love old barns, we have quite a few around us and I'm always taking pics of them. I grew up on a farm, so they bring back memories.
Praying for your CO kids!
That old barn reminds me of Andy and me! I’m glad the chiropractor could help, and prayers for your family. ❤️
ReplyDeleteIt’s good you went to the chiropractor! Glad you’re already feeling improvement! What a nice surprise on that credit! My goodness that seems awfully cold for Texas. Will those starter trees in pots be okay? Is there a story on the old barn?
ReplyDeleteI like rust and old barns! Sorry to hear your Colorado kids have the flu. I haven’t heard of anyone personally here getting the flu - just a lot of bad colds. Of course, if they don’t get tested they wouldn’t know, so there’s that. I’ll have to ask both my sons who work at Care facilities what they’re seeing as the predominant illness.
I enjoy seeing the photos of your farm.
Enjoy today!
Well, my goodness...Brrrr... that's too, too cold for sure. Glad the weather goes back to 70's though. Actually ours is suppose to do that too by next week. I'm eagerly awaiting it.
ReplyDeleteSorry your kiddos are so sick. Prayers for a quick recovery.
Love your old shed/barn. It has so much character. That's a lot of rain to make your road into a pond. Hope the snow/frost didn't harm those trees in the containers.
I am glad that your adjustment treatment did the trick. Hope it continues to feel good and win/win on your bill. I love that kind of thing.
Sue
I loved seeing the farm pictures, Shug. There's nothing like visiting nature for a while; it's a calming experience. The pecan tree is really growing uniquely. Wow, look at all the water you got from the rain! I'm glad to hear the chiropractor helped with your back pain. And I'm saying a little prayer for your Colorado family. Nasty stuff is going around right now. That's such a pretty picture of the container trees with ice forming on them. Thank you for your wish for your blog friends at the end of your post. That is so thoughtful, Shug.

Oh my look at the ice on those trees. I am so ready for warmer weather. Not sure we will see 70s anytime soon but above freezing would be lovely!! Praying everyone feels better quickly!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much....the irrigation was turned on in order to keep the trees from freezing...sounds strange, but the ice actually keeps them from freezing. Thank you for your prayers.
DeleteHi Shug~ Oh my goodness, your world does looks cold and wet! Glad you will be getting some warm temps... Send them our way! So sorry to hear that your kids have the flu! They will most definitely be in my prayers. We got about 2 inches of snow last night, but it's in the upper 30's today so most of it will melt. I love the my chiropractor and always feel so good after an adjustment. I'm so glad that he was able to help you with your back. Have a good Thursday, Shug! Hugs and Love, Barb
ReplyDeleteThank you Barb for praying for my kiddos. Tyler (grandson) has to begin his AF training school in just a few days, and they are so strict about missing days...We are praying he is completely well before this starts. 2 inches would be a whole lot of snow for our area. strange weather here in Texas this year. Hope the rest of your day is good to you...
DeleteThat's always a pleasant surprise when there is no charge at the doctors office. I didn't know it was possible to weigh more on side.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the Colorado kids. Hope they are all feeling better soon
Hey Ann...yes, they weigh you with two scales. one foot on one and the other foot on the other scale. Both together equaled my exact weight, just one side weighed more
DeleteIt's always a good time to adopt a needy dog or cat from the local shelter.
ReplyDeleteThe frosted container trees are beautiful! Will this kill them? How on earth can you weigh just one side of your body?? One side of my body is larger than the other, even my feet take a different size shoe. So I bet that side weighs more, too.
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny. No this is actually good for the trees. Being covered in ice is the best thing for the trees. With our teen temps, if they did not have the water to make ice, it would have killed them. strange I know. The chiropractor weighed me with two scales. One foot on one and the other foot on the other scale. the two weights combined equaled my actual weight.
DeleteI always enjoyed grafting trees, it is an art! I am glad you had good results with your Chiro visit.
ReplyDeleteYou are right Connie...it truly is an art and it is so hard for Sam to find people to do this kind of work now days.
DeleteToday was the coldest day of the year here. It was absolutely freezing, but yes it will get better here too. Love your penguin. How did one side of your body weight more than the other. Hoping the kids will get over the flu quick and Sam's appt. went okay.
ReplyDeletethe farm looks nice and easy to access ......
ReplyDeleteyes, temperatures drop in our area as well.... freezing.
Hi Shug :) I've never heard of one side of the body weighing differently! That's amazing! We learn something new every day :) I'm so glad you're feeling better and a $200 credit doesn't hurt! Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeletethank you and I hope something wonderful happens in yours, and pray you kids will kick that flu to the curb soon.. Jackie had it while in hospital and the nurses called it The Bad Flu... yay for the 200 dollar credit. daddy had 3 pecan trees in our yard in Savannah, they are my favorite nut since I grew up eating them. I am still trying to get up off the floor that you don't have a pet... going through my mind of friends and I can't come up with one that doesn't have something, one has a parakeet. My dad hated pets, dogs cats all pets. but I never went without one. of course the first 19 years of my life, they had to live outside.. got married and changed to dogs in the house.. my brother has no pet, he loves dogs like I do, but his wife will not have one. she is afraid of all dogs and hates cats... I also used to feed the strays when daddy wasn't looking
