 When you are the first to Laugh at yourself....Everyone else Laughs with you!

Today has been one of those "Laid Back" kind of Sunday's.   Church this morning was AWESOME and the afternoon has been so very peaceful.
Nothing like having time to play on your phone as you watch Football.  By the way, The Dallas Cowboys did win their game today!

I played with the snap chat filters this afternoon and I have laughed at myself several times with all of the Halloween faces.   Witches, goblins, and ghost are not my kind of thing, but these crazy snap chat options are funny.

A little "Black eye" action going on in this photo....

I thought this one was cute.... with the pink and turquoise eyes, and of course the red nose.

I am completely admitting that this one makes me feel like "Be-Witched" ..... Y'all remember that old show, don't you?   Something about the eyes!!   LOL. 😂😁

               Oh Jeepers.....Totally NOT my style!!

             Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall....who's the

                              Funniest gal of all...?

Purple Eyes...

They are pretty, but could you really imagine having purple eyes?

And with Snap Chat, your wrinkles can disappear with just a click of a button!!  LOL

I hope you all can enjoy my laughter!

I have a couple of great nieces who attended the school Fall Festival last evening.  Seeing them dressed up in their costumes was such fun, because they both had huge smiles on their little faces.  The oldest one was dressed in a "Ghost Busters" outfit......the youngest was a big Stay Puft Marshmallow.

I like how the schools allow the kids to enjoy the Fall season by hosting events such as the Fall festival.  It takes a lot of hard work by parents, the PTO, as well as the staff of the school, to make this all come together.

Look how cute this is for a photo shoot!!

There are so many activities for the kids to do, however, I feel that their favorite part is getting lots of candy and prizes.  They also love seeing their friends dressed up in various costumes.

What a great time to celebrate ALL THINGS FALL!

What Would be your favorite??

Pumpkin Bag Toss?............  Pull a String? .........

                          Bobbing For Apples?

Pumpkin Decorating? ........   Scarecrow Relay?....

                 Treasure in a Haystack?.........

Hay Ride?........      Eating Corndogs?.....   Hay Maze?......

           Cakewalk?.......  Face Painting?.......   Games?.......

Candy Corn Count?.......   FOOD?...........   Ring Toss?.......

                       Walk the Plank?.........

Pumpkin Patch Walk?.......          Pumpkin Bowling?.......

So Many things to do!  Find a festival and have some fun!!

All in Dogs Life

Animals are a gift from above, for they truly define the words "Unconditional Love."

                                                                                              Heather Wolf

If I were a dog, I would definitely want to live in our daughter's home!  They actually have 4 dogs, but for some reason, I only got pictures of the three.

The white one is" Missy" and her breed is a Cockadoodle.

and I think she is 6 months old.  The Black dog is "Remi" and she in about a year old.  Both of these two are Chewers!!

They like to chew on things and sometimes they chew on things that they are not suppose to chew on.  Both are so lovable.  Remi is a young Lab that really doesn't care to be trained.

The Dapple colored dog is "Lucy" and she is not quite so lovable.  She's a easy going dog, but she is not a cuddlier.

The only time she actually pays any attention to you is when she gets to play in the pool, or she wants what you are eating, or she wants to play Ball.

These dogs have a life of Ease and even in all of the families busyness, the dogs are catered to....even with getting special snacks!!

In the header photo, is my little dog...."Bella."  I have had her for 12 years.  Let me tell you though....she is pretty spoiled as well.

And then, there is "Jake"......!  He belongs to my daughters family as well.  He is a Lab, and he is a little lazy.  He is the oldest of all of her dogs, so he is kinda the King!

Like I said....these dogs have it made....

October brings HOMECOMING for Mylee at her NEW school.  Our school colors have always been Blue and Gold, and our school mascot has always been a Bear.   But.....not this year!

Mylee changed schools and is now attending a private school.  The good thing is, her mom (Shanda) changed schools as well.  (After 21 years).  Shanda is now teaching Dyslexia at the same private school.  I must tell you, this has been a HUGE adjustment for Mylee's Pops and Shug.  We graduated from our local High School as well as all of the other kids and grandkids in the family.

We know this is going to be great for Mylee and she has the opportunity to expand some of her electives at the private school.  She has already met new friends and with basketball beginning next week, and I know she will meet many other classmates.

Back to Homecoming.  Here in TEXAS, we are big on Homecoming MUMS.  I've posted about this before and it amazes me that MUMS are not a big thing all across the United States.  Of course, with the change of schools, came different school colors and a different mascot.  The school colors are now ORANGE and NAVY BLUE.  For privacy reasons I won't name the school or the mascot.

Mylee chose to have a garter mum this year.  This is the kind that you wear on your leg, and this kind of mum is not so bulky.

This girl was all decked out for the big day!  Hard to believe she is growing up so fast.

If you get a chance, you should google Texas Homecoming Mums.  Very interesting and you will be able to see what a big deal these are.

Seriously y'all.....this header describes me to a   T   like YESTERDAY!!

It is possible that I had at least 5 tabs open at one time, in my brain, and they were acting like they had been given high doses of caffeine.

I'm the kind of person that writes EVERYTHING down and I keep myself organized very well.  I failed at doing so yesterday.

See these shoes?  Mylee wanted these shoes for an event that she is going to at school.  Wouldn't you know it......they did not have her size at the store she was shopping at.  Shanda called the other stores of this kind that are near us.  Seems that they are completely out of stock.

After checking the brand and finding other Dept stores that carry this brand, I located the exact shoe in her size.  In the mean time, Mylee was able to find a different pair of shoes that she liked too.

Since she found the other shoes, I begin to  carry on with my business and head out to go to the grocery store.  On about the 3rd isle of me shopping, I receive an email giving me a confirmation number for my order.   Oh my gosh.......I had ordered the shoes and did not even know that I did!!!!   Not only had I ordered the shoes, but I selected to go to the store and PICK them up.   The issue with this is........we live about a 100 miles away from that store.  It is still a puzzle how all of this happened, but let me tell you, this TAB went in overdrive.

I tried to call the store, but was unsuccessful  in reaching anyone.

See the above picture.   I went to the store to buy what I need to make these biscuit scones.  One thing I needed was pumpkin.  I finish buying groceries, but when I got home, I did not have anything that I need to make this recipe!

Why?  Because my shopping TAB (in my brain) was only half way open.

I was finally able to speak to someone at the store and they are now shipping the shoes to me.   That's another thing in itself.   Why, did I just not cancel the order when I spoke to them.  After all, the shoes were still right there at the store.
I was a bit flustered and all I could think of was.....I can't drive a 100 miles this afternoon to pick up those shoes!!

Pumpkin Biscuit Scones will have to wait.........The person I was going to take the scones to, will have to wait......The Shoes? I'll have to figure out what to do with them......The other Tabs that were open in my brain are waiting for me to close them.

Bless My Heart!

 Do you like the Eerie-scary days of October?   I like the pumpkins and all of the beautiful Fall colors, however, I am not big into the Halloween side of October.

Let me first of all say, that when I was a kid, Halloween was all about funny type costumes and Candy!  I remember the old mask that never really contoured correctly to your face.  And then there was the CANDY.  We would gather enough candy, popcorn balls, and plastic teeth, to last us for months.

Those were the good ol' days!!  I don't really care for Halloween........with all the very scary costumes that are out there these days.

 However, many people think it is FUN and they go all out with  skeletons and all the other types of gory stuff 👻.  Guess this is just an example of us all having our own likes and dislikes.   I do enjoy pumpkin carving and handing candy out to all the little ones.  I also like the fact that my kids all love to come over on trick R' treat night, as we sit outside and wait for all the candy gatherers to drop by.

This home is located in our little town and they "Have" gone all out on the Halloween decorations.  I think this would end up keeping me up all night, just knowing that it was in my front yard.

Can you imagine being a small kid walking up the driveway to this home and seeing this as you pass by?  NOT ME!

They even have a skeleton hanging onto the back tire of their vehicle.  EEK!

It is clear to see that they enjoy decorating for the ghostly day of Halloween.

~~~~
We have a beautiful day here in East Texas.  The weather is fabulous and the sun is shining...  Happy Sunday to you all.
 I don't know how many of you are familiar with the famous "Sonic Fast Food Drive Thru Places?"
"Sorry....I tried to upload some pictures, but they never would come up." 😓
Our little town has one that is less than a mile from our house and I am a frequent customer........like everyday!!
I always make a trip each morning and purchase TWO large Un-sweet teas........one for me and one for Sam.  Hey, this is much better than drinking a Dr Pepper every morning.
This afternoon, I was on my way to pick Mylee up from school and I saw a Sonic in a different town from where we live.   I thought that it would be nice to have something cold for Mylee to drink, especially since she has athletics for her last class.  Figured she would be sweaty from running and a nice Cherry Sprite would be just what she needed.
I pull in to the drive thru, and I order two medium Cherry sprites.   When I get to the window to pay, I give the young lady my money and it ends up that she owes me $12.49 in change.  I am watching her as she gets my money ready to give me and she never touches her "CHANGE" drawer.   Instead, she hands me $12.00 and $12.00 only.   She then said, "Would you like your .49 cents??   I was a bit startled by her question, but I then said...."Yes, yes I would."
.49 cents?   That's like paying an extra .25 cents per drink.   Why would I not want all of my change?  I was thinking, if they do this to every customer, just think how much extra they make each day.  What if my change had been .79 cents or .89 cents.  Would she still have asked if I wanted my change?
I don't understand a lot of things about how things work in our world today.  I know that .49 cents  these days will not buy much by itself,  but when I was 10 years old, it would have allowed us to purchase 2 loafs of bread.
I don't know.......I was just so puzzled for her to ask me this question.
Laughs today!
Is there anyone else out there having problems with photos not loading onto your post??
 Adding vibrant shades of "Fall" colors to your home decor, makes for feelings of a visually satisfying sensation, that we embrace with a welcoming spirit.
Adding tiny bright lights to a wreath filled with colors, gives much warmth to any room.....and hey, who doesn't love these amazing little lights that bring warmth to any room?  The lights are so gentle and cozy.
I use them all the time, throughout the year, no matter what season it is.
This is also the time of year when I love to burn candles.  Mind you, I'm not a huge fan of many of the fragrances of burning candles.  I have my favorites as well as my dislikes!
Vanilla and apples are some of my most liked smells, but I stay away from anything cranberry!  Cranberry was always my moms favorite candle, but for me, it is too sweet.
Who keeps their dining table set throughout the year?
ME!  I do.  I still have my turquoise and white dinner set out, I just added a sunflower for now.  I may get a little more creative in a few weeks, and add some small pumpkins and gourds.
Same for this cabinet that I have had for 25 years.  This one piece of furniture has brought me so much joy!  Adding color to the face of this piece of furniture adds so much to our dining area.    I usually keep it decorated with plates for whatever holiday or season is happening at the time.   I also love adding colorful magazines to the front of the cabinet.
Pumpkin Spice, Lattes, Hot Chocolate, bon-fires, sweaters, football season, Changing colors, mugs of Apple cider, picking the perfect pumpkin, Caramel, Fairs, Crisp Air, Scarecrows, Hayrides, Decorating, Candy corn and peanuts, Fall festivals, scarfs, boots, drizzling rain, Thanksgiving.....WOW, so much to enjoy about FALL.
I'm very excited for the season of Fall.   The gorgeous colors are a reminder of how awesome our God is.  The crisp air, refreshes my breathing and I so enjoy stepping outside so I can take in the scents of nature.
Being the soup lover that I am, I love the smell of a full pot of soup simmering on the stove.  Comfort food makes me feel good.
Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let go of things that weigh us down.  May your spirits be lifted each and every day, as you watch the colors change and as you feel the presence of each new day.
 Life is moving fast, like a swift moving river, making its way down a steep gradient slope!!
Seems like yesterday, I was chasing our 6 grandkids all through the house, playing hide n' seek.  The boys were constantly wrestling with me or pulling jokes on me.  Lots and lots of laughs.
Tori was always exploring through every drawer in our house.....and her favorite thing to do was going through my jewelry box.  Honestly, she still loves doing this!!
Mylee, the baby of the family always enjoyed helping me in the kitchen.  She always wanted to "make cookies for the boys."  She also loved singing "Oh happy Day," while running throughout the house, sometimes doing a little dance.
I am extremely thankful for all of these precious times, and I'm thankful that I was given the opportunity to be a stay at home grandmother, and to be able to keep the grandkids while they were in their younger years.
I only wished we were back in those days!!
What is so hard to believe, is that MYLEE (the youngest grandchild) will be getting her drivers permit in just a few months!!  This is CRAZY.
Time. . . . . Please slow down.
Now, the oldest grandson lives over 1600 miles away and his a family of his own.   Our second grandson lives about 40 miles away and he and his wife are busy, busy!
The others are in College, working and the youngest is in High School.  They all have busy lives!
I've gone from cooking breakfast for all of them EVERY SINGLE DAY, to seeing Tyler's family once a year......Tucker and his wife maybe every two months and the others a couple times a week.
Distance, it is said, Makes the heart grow fonder.
This grandmother heart
misses those full days.
