A Beautiful Fence.....

I am so excited to share this particular fence with you  today!!

Do any of you recognize it?

This is the "Healing Garden" at Children's Hospital in Dallas, Texas........

It is truly a beautiful place and it offers amazing Peace as you listen to the water passing over the rocks at the garden river.

This young man, is the reason that I have walked this garden......week after week.....for about three and a half years!

Tucker is our second grandson and at the age of 8, he was diagnosed with T-cell Leukemia.   We honestly spent an enormous amount of time at the hospital and the clinics.

Here is Tucker's "Beads of Courage" necklace......

The hospital did not start the program of  beads until Tucker's third year of treatment.   Each bead represents some type of treatment that these kids go through, whether it's a blood transfusion, surgery, spinal tap, chemo, or radiation....

As you can see.....even in Tucker's third year of treatment, he received several beads.   There is NO WAY for me to be able to tell you just how much these kids go through ..... in their journey to be healed.

This is Tucker......today.....age 16.  He is healthy and super handsome!   He does have Type 1 diabetes, caused by  damage from his chemo....But for the most part......he handles it very well.  He loves life and Golf is the sport he enjoys!

I am so thankful for the care that Tucker received at Children's Hospital...... I will never forget the many hours spent....walking around this place.....praying and asking God for a HIS healing powers to touch, not only Tucker....but every kid in that hospital....

It is a BEAUTIFUL FENCE!!

I'm joining Good Fences today.....

A fence can be mended to look new again.....
Our Bodies can be made whole, by God's healing hands......

Hugs to each of you....

Drops of Rain.

Rainy weather again, here in East Texas....Very cloudy... the temps are rather mild at the present time....HOWEVER, a Winter storm is on the maps, and it's heading for us!

Seems that Fall is still hanging around as well....No matter how many times the yard is cleaned....a few of the leaves find their way onto my porch!!  This one is going to be stranded for a few days...at least, until the rain goes away!

Don't you know, that it's a "Cool"
thing to have Christmas lights in your back yard?  Sam strung these on a wire for me and they surround a portion of our back yard.  I liked them so much, that I decided to leave them up year round.

This bird bath sits outside our bedroom window and I so enjoy watching, not only the birds, but the squirrels as well....as they drink and play in this area.

This clover will more than likely be covered with ice before tomorrow morning!!

That's TEXAS weather for you!!

A daffodil bloom that needed a BATH.

Hmmm.  I wonder how it got there?
Did some tiny little hands pick it?
Perhaps a squirrel pushed it into the rain puddle!?

Take time to notice the "Simple" things in life!!

Blessings,

A Little Box for You......

Woo Hoo.....does anyone recognize this fella?

He has been "Missing" for a few weeks, and I have truly been on the look out for him.

Here is the good news!!  I found him today...

I got myself dressed this morning and headed out.....I had several errands to run before my big day?   Ooops....I think I must have forgot to tell you all about my big day....this coming Friday.

I don't really like to talk about myself, so I had first decided that I would keep this to myself...and Sam of course.  But then....a sweet friend of mine, shared with me the importance of prayer and how she did not know what she would do without her "blogging" prayer warriors.  So, I decided that perhaps I could use all the prayers I could get for my upcoming surgery!!

Thanks Betsy....you are always the Best when it comes to giving me great advice!!

At my Doctor's advice, as well as the surgeon's....I am having Colon Surgery this Friday.   The plan is to resection my colon and get rid of all the damaged areas....caused by Diverticulitis.

***
Back to my errand running.   I have so much to do....{after all...wearing a T-shirts might not be appropriate for the hospital}   not only to get ready for my hospital stay but I have to get my dad re-located back to the Nursing Home.   I'm pretty sure I shared with you, that he has been in the hospital a couple of weeks now with a couple of  serious UTI's.     Thank goodness...He is better now!

I dressed warm this morning so I would be comfortable for the cool temps.   By mid-morning....I think I had shed everything but the necessities!!  The "Sun" decided to shine and boy, did it get a little warm!!

My socks were the first to come off.....then it was the scarf, the long sleeve jacket, and finally the shoes.  I did wait until I got in the car (on my way home) to shed the shoes.

It is true.....the weather in Texas can change in a heartbeat!!

I was extremely happy to see the sun shining!!

I would certainly appreciate every prayer said on my behalf for my surgery Friday!!

Thanks Friends!!
Sweet Hugs...

Are you completely clothed?

Dear Aunty Acid......you crack me up!

Many times....the things that Aunty Acid has to say, fits me to a T.

Is it the age thing?  Perhaps it's the weather....I don't know! As of late, I find that I could easily stay in my Pj's all day long.   {Good news is, I don't}

By 7:00 in the evening, if you were to drop by our house, it's probable that you would find me in my Pj's.  Not only me...but Sam too!!

Being "Casual" means feeling comfortable.  Not everyone will agree with me about this.  Some people are just as comfortable in dress slacks and a jacket....but for me... my flannel pj's, jeans and a T-shirt is what calls my name.

Bless their Hearts!!
those that can wear heels and dress clothes every day....

One area of our life that we cannot afford to be casual in, is "Our Christian Walk."

We must put on the armor of God...everyday.

It takes a conscious effort to be completely  clothed with the armor of God....

I pray that my life glorifies the Lord....

Have an awesome day!!

Sunshine Where are You?

My Calendar.....clearly says that March has arrived!

Spring arrives this month.....March 20th to be exact and "Time" changes on the March 8th......

It appears that Mother Nature has been way too busy to take a look at the Calendar..... the signs of March are few, and far behind.....

Sunshine....Where are you?

Have a Blessed Sunday, and Happy March!
