Trista and I just made it back home from Van, Texas. We drove over to make a delivery to her friends, whose home was destroyed.
This is a picture of their home!
We were not allowed to drive into the area with the most severe damage.....however, I took the below picture from area properties that were in the path of the tornado before it reached the community of Van. I couldn't believe what I was seeing...
Map of our area! Much flooding taking place!!! As I said in my last post....Rain is in the forecast for the rest of the week. Our rain amount received last night was 7 inches alone. It has rained so much since January and the ground is just saturated.
Roads....completely washed out!
Unbelievable!!!

The Damage is like nothing I have ever seen.
There are now confirmed deaths and there are still people missing.
Please keep the community of Van in your prayers. And...pray for the surrounding towns that have much flooding!

Goodness gracious! The power of nature is astounding. God bless and help those who have lost property or lives or were injured.

ReplyDeleteI missed your earlier post-- but saw this one, those pictures are horrendous.
I've watched the news off and on today-- been praying for the families that are dis-placed from their homes, and for the families who have missing loved ones.
It is devastating.
The severe weather missed us-- but had been heading straight here.
We are fortunate and blessed-- my heart goes out to the people of Van.
We just watched our local news tonight here in Virginia. Phil remarked that their live shots looked just like yours. And sure enough, their report was on Van. I guess it is all over the country.

ReplyDeleteOh how terrible. I saw the news about Van on TV --and didn't know where Van was. Didn't realize that it was SO close to you all. Are you okay? How about hubby's business?

When water sources are out of control, it is very hard for everyone. I can't imagine the devastation from that tornado, although I've seen it before in Illinois. So good of you to go to Van to take some food. I'm sure they could use lots of help there. We have missed the rain in the Hill Country, just went a bit north of us.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I have been thinking about you for the last few days, and my heart goes out to all the good people in your area, who are suffering loss.
The pictures are so sad, I can't even imagine what those who are suffering are enduring right now...my heart breaks for them.
The good people of Texas will be in my prayers!

Oh my word! I had heard about it on the news but I didn't know it was that bad. Those poor people.
