Ice in East Texas

We are having a little bit of ice/sleet here in East Texas.

Nothing compared to other parts of the Country....but it doesn't take much for everything around here to come to a halt.

The schools are closed.

Some businesses are closed...

My Caroline Jasmine is getting ready to BLOOM..

Hmmmm.

a small amount of sleet, gathering in the forks of the trees...

Sleet on the roof top....

A good day for a nice big bowl of

Taco soup!!

Yum....so good!!

Be safe everyone..

  1. Sounds good, Shug. We have icy stuff in the Hill Country as well today...28 degrees at the moment with a 17 chill factor. I'm concerned for those little flower stems pushing up already in the mulch.

  2. Love your pictures. There so much snow in so many places. I really do love my Southern CA. Everything is green on our balcony.

  3. Stay warm and stay safe! We are finally going back to school tomorrow with a one hour delay. I wonder what our attendance will be?

  5. I love your header, and the way the daffodils beautify the fence. Our schools and church have been closed like it seems forever. But I think you guys do not get this kind of thing as much as we do. You have Jasmine!! I wish I could smell it! I hope it survives.

  7. Watch out for those icy patches when walking outside! We're supposed to get snow tomorrow night...just when the last one (which wasn't all that much) is beginning to melt away. I'm ready for some spring weather! Have a good day and enjoy that soup! I'm having my yummy potato soup.

  8. I'm kind of liking what little bit of 'snow/ice' we get. Makes me glad it's cold.
I mean if it's going to be cold, may as well...get a snow day out of it.
My daffodils were bursting out...then the winter weather caused them to droop. It's not uncommon here, huh? To have frozen flowers.
The sad part is any blossoms on fruit trees... that's not uncommon either. ;)
Stay warm... What time is the soup ready?
    ...take care Shug!
