Voice or NO Voice.....

I'm sitting here listening to the "Voice" and wondering to myself.....why I didn't sing more as a child.   Was this another one of those things that I was way too shy to do?

I sure wish that I would have been one of those kids that strongly developed a voice for singing and desired to learn music.  Oh, I did play in the school band (the clarinet) but, this really was not my thing.....way back then!

Speaking of way back then......

I miss these things......I'm talking about the good ol' telephones that we all had at home!!

Most of us had at least one......later on, maybe two!!

I remember the old party line days as well...

Oh yes, when I was a teenager, we were on the same party line of some older ladies that were the town gossips!!
What fun that was....

In today's world......in lot of homes (including ours) a phone is a thing of the past.   We all have cell phones!!
Everything is wireless.

I miss phone conversations!  Never thought I'd say that....but honestly, I'd rather have a REAL conversation as to text!  It's nice to be able to hear the real expressions in a conversation.

How many of you prefer texting?

Praying Blessings for each of you,

Shug ~

  1. Hi Shug!

I am with you - I wish I had sung more as a child! When I was older, I had a dear friend who loved to sing, and asked me sing with her. We had so much fun; we sang at Christmas parties, at retirement centers, at church, we even made a CD! She passed away 10 years ago, and I sure miss those fun times.

I remember party lines!! Those two older ladies sure did get around...they were on our line too!

Talking has become a thing of the past. I don't even think teenagers know how to carry on a conversation, let alone start one. Wow, how times have changed!

I do text, but I much prefer talking... :0)

    Hugs,
    Barb

  2. This makes me think of my old princess phone. Didn't every teenager have one? I love talking on the phone because you can't take anything the wrong way..inflection and tone of voice. But with texting...well, it is O.K. when you are in a big hurry. LOVE you and Sam here with your beautiful smiles!

  3. I'm disliking my cell phone more and more each day. I miss that freedom of being out and about and not having to stop what ever I am doing to answer the phone! I don't like texting either.

  4. When my grandmother passed away, all I wanted was her phone that she talked on for hours, sometimes in French. Hers was just like the one pictured, but black. It sits in my office and I love it. I prefer texting. Phone calls are okay as long as they're not long gab-fests. I guess I have embraced technology. :)

  6. I much prefer talking to texting! But I'm not in favor of either one out in public. I see sooo many with phones stuck to their ears or in their hands while shopping or even eating out. My kids often text me and I'll text back, but I'm not fond of it.

  8. I agree with Cheryl.
I think it is sad to
see a family at a restaurant
with all their heads in their
phones. A lot of people have
lost the art of having conversations
    face to face.

I love the old phones but I prefer texting so that I don't have to talk long.
