Fun Pair of Shoes.....
Do you have any "FUN" pairs of shoes in your closet? Maybe a pair that is out of this world gorgeous or a pair that speaks loud and clear about the kind of outgoing person you might be? Or....how about a pair of funky shoes? You know, the kind that makes people think you are "One crazy woman" when you wear them out in public?
If I can be honest, I must say that I own a pair that describes all three of the above pairs of shoes!! I don't always wear them, but at least I know that they're siting in my closet in case I want to.
First of all, it's no secret that I love shoes!! I really do. I could walk into Dillard's this very day and easily walk out with a dozen or so bags full of beautiful shoes. Would this be smart on my part? Of course not....unless, I found a super great sale!!!!! But....I could also walk out of Goodwill toting a pair or two and I'd be just as happy.
To find that special pair of shoes that truly describes your personality.....is completely different. It's when you un-expectedly find a pair that is strongly calling your name and you know they just have to be yours. When it comes to a pair like this, I don't ever have to worry about my size being in stock. Not enough people have the personality to wear them, and therefore.....the sizes are plentiful.
What does a fun pair of shoes do for me? Let me just tell you how important they are to my day. A fun pair of shoes can radiate so much happiness for me.....for which I am able to let overflow into my day by bringing happy smiles to all those that I see. It's great to be able to walk around with a smile on your face...
The way I see it is......I get a fun pair of shoes.....I get to be happy....and I get to share my happiness with many folks along the way. When I say that I get a fun pair of shoes, I want you to know that it doesn't matter if they cost 50 cents or if they cost $2.00, and if I purchase them at a garage sale or at the dollar store. It's not about dollars....it's about being a person that can strut fun shoes!!
I want to make one thing clear...having a fun pair of shoes is NOT about "Look at me, look what I have".....NO, it's all about having fun in life and being able to share it with others. Do any of you want to borrow my FUN shoes? I will gladly share or even give them to you!
Check out your closet today and discover for yourself what kind of shoes you have. Does your selection in shoes best describe you as a combat shoe kind of person OR.....much like me.....A CLOWN shoe kind of gal.
Hugs Y'all

On the Road and Loving It....
I'm taking a break from all of the household chores......I'm taking a break from taking care of my dad.....I'm taking a break from my busy world.....I'M TAKING A BREAK!!!! I'm on the road and loving it!
I had about an hour yesterday afternoon to throw a weeks worth of clothes into a suitcase, head out the door and jump in the truck, before Sam drove away on a business trip. Not to worry..... I made it, purse, camera, suitcase and ALL.
I'm with Sam P..........traveling down I 10.... Headed to Florida. Did any of my Louisiana, Mississippi, or Georgia friends see me wave as we passed through your states? I waved BIG time.
It feels great, just to be able to sit and ride.....with my feet propped up! I've already enjoyed one McDonalds Frappe' and I must say.....it was delicious!!!! I might possibly be able to have another one, towards the end of the trip. (LOTS OF CALORIES)
Who could guess this? What? That I have already lost my phone once this morning!! NOT ME!! But, oh yes I did.
It was in this truck, underneath Sam's seat. I'm pretty sure that it was a hilarious sight with me turned up side down looking for the thing. The bad thing is.....it took me about a 100 miles down the road, before (Sam) found it, and this was when we stopped at the McDonalds in Semmes Alabama. Of course, if....it had been his phone that was lost, he would have pulled over immediately and found the thing. I think he was enjoying my craziness of not having the thing attached to my hand.
Hey....I felt naked without it!! Do any of you ever feel that way when you don't have your phone near by? One thing is for sure....My hips are not hurting anymore. I had myself a big workout with all the twisting and turning I was doing....looking for the thing.
Ok....I must tell on myself. I did forget to pack something. It wasn't my underwear, I made sure I packed plenty of them. After all, my mom always told me (too) to always wear clean panties! I'm guessing your mom told you this as well? What I did forget was my night clothes. I know....a little too personal isn't it? Don't worry...I found one of Sam's t-shirt and it worked just fine. This is the only thing that I have missed so far. But, who knows what I might have thrown into that bag and who knows what else I may have forgotten.
This is a makeup free day for me!! Yikes!! All I can hope for is that I did pick up all of that important stuff!!
Well....happy trails to each of you. I have no idea where my trail will be leading me over the next five or six days. The one thing that I do know is that I'm going to ENJOY every minute....
By the way....I have seen some gorgeous Fall, yard decorations, but this vehicle is not stopping for me to snap any photos!! Lots of great ideas though..
I am one happy lady today....how about you?

Taking the Opportunity to.......
Hi to all...
I was sitting at the hospital today with our daughter (Shanda) while her husband Tom was having foot surgery.
As I looked around the huge waiting area, I saw all kinds of emotions on different people's faces. Some were smiling as they visited with family and friends........others had a more intense look as if to acknowledge that they were worried about their loved ones that were in surgery at the time.
There were sighs of relief, as doctor after doctor met with families to deliver the news that surgery went well. I also saw people gathered around, holding hands as they prayed for a loved one.
But, there was this one particular lady that captured my eyes... She was a frail looking lady with hair that had slightly been neglected. I would guess that she was in her mid to upper 80's and she looked as if the years had taken quite a toll on her fair skin.
Have you ever smiled at someone, only to receive a blank stare in return? I wasn't sure as to whether or not this lady had even noticed my smile, or was she staring right past me? My heart was telling me to speak, but my mind was telling me that this lady would rather be left alone. It's in times like these, that we need to trust the Holy Spirit to guide us.
I took the opportunity, as I got up to grab a cup of coffee, to walk past her and to say Good Morning. As she glanced up at me, I could see that her eyes were full of tears. I ask her if I could pray with her for whatever was causing her to have a heavy heart. I immediately saw that she was welcoming my prayers. She said Yes, that she would be happy to have me pray with her. She didn't have to tell me what her worries were about....all she needed was for me to pray with her.
I prayed for her to have peace and for God to heal whatever was causing her to carry a heavy burden. She thanked me and she expressed to me how lonely she felt, because she and her husband had no family near by. Her husband was in surgery and she was so worried about him and about how well he would do after surgery.
We chatted for a moment and I assured her that God was in control. I told her to Trust in God and that HE would see them through.
I pray that she and her husband are able to rest well tonight.
God is always looking for ways to bless us, and I was certainly Blessed today.

Smart Box Issues.....
Ok y'all.....just dare to believe this!
My one and only (smart box) is sick....Yes it is. This means, until it is fixed, I won't be sharing any pictures! The reason why, is because I'll be borrowing Sam's (smart box) until mine is fixed.
He has windows 8 on his computer and I have not been able to figure it all out yet. It's my fault that MY smart box is sick, so I'll just have to put on my big girl panties and deal with blogging on an alien computer.
Can you believe? Would you believe? .......... that I let my virus protection plan renewal, slip right past me. I never even noticed that it had expired. So.....my sweet (dependable) baby is not running exactly right.
Not to worry though.....It didn't have any kind of serious problems that would cause any of my followers to develop a problem.
I will give you a bit of advice that I have certainly learned the hard way. Unless you are a computer guru, don't go deleting programs that you know nothing about. YES mam, YES sir......Since it was running a bit slow, and since I had a few extra pop-ups, I thought that I knew the perfect solution of how to fix these things.
In the same way that it's not good to self diagnose ourselves when we feel bad, it's just as important to know that you MUST NOT self diagnose problems with your computer. Something that I thought wasn't needed.......WAS! At least, I now know how to delete a program!!!!! Lol..
I guess this means that I'll have to do a lot of talking and less picture showing.....for the next week or so!!
I recently saw this and thought it was worth sharing......I would love to give credit to the person who wrote it, but I have no clue as to who it is.
"For attractive lips.....Speak words of kindness! For lovely eyes....... Seek out the good in people! For a slim figure.....Share your food with the hungry! For beautiful hair.....Let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day! For poise.....Walk with the knowledge you'll never walk alone."
Isn't this GREAT?
Big sweet hugs to my sweet, sweet friends!
