Oh My Goodness....... REALLY?
What is this......maybe like the 5th or 6th day for kids to be out of school. Like only one week!!
I have already heard the word Bored at least a dozen times.....
and I have said: "That's right...today, we are NOT going to the water park....NO, I'm not taking you to the golf course.....No, this is not a fishing day......No, we can't take the gator to the farm." WHY NOT YOU SAY? Because I don't have time to stay at the farm while you play.......
And this is what I hear......"But, y'all just don't get it." GET WHAT????
I just have to laugh...... Sam and I are keeping kids this weekend, and it sure looks like we should have made some plans to have a kid entertainer, hanging around here for the next couple of days....
What? kids don't play in the dirt anymore? Do kids not spend time outdoors, these days?
What has happened to imaginary playing?
Whew.....they are outside swimming at the moment!! Wonder what will happen, if when they come inside....I say: "Lets go clean the flower beds?" I can see the eyes rolling right now!!
For now, I think I'll grab myself a nap!!

What do you Prefer?
Vacation plans......Anyone?
last June.....(around the middle of June)...... Sam and I were sitting in the airport.....waiting to catch a flight to Canada. I'm not super fond of flying.....however, it sure is nice when it comes time to leave from a trip to come back home. When a vacation ends, it sure is nice to hurry up and get back to your own bed.
Can you see the guy that is standing on the rocks.....wearing a red shirt???
These are just some random shots from our trip to Canada.....

Rainbow Mist.....
Beautiful flowers.......
More gorgeous plants.....
I absolutely love seeing vineyards......
*****
Which do your prefer? Driving vacations, where you can stop when you want to for potty breaks, stop to eat at a quaint little sandwich shop, do a little antiquing, and travel at your own pace? Or.....do you prefer to fly (or take a train) so that you can hurry up and get to your destination?
Do you prefer to settle in, to one hotel, and then take day adventures to see the sites and follow an itinerary........Or, do you like to travel and stay in different areas while vacationing?
The older that I get, the less that I like to drive. The last driving vacation that Sam and I took by ourselves, was in September of 2011. We took a small trip to Branson and it took us approximately 30 hours to get there. A normal trip to this area, would usually take us about 8 hours, max. We took our time and made several stops. It was truly a super sweet trip and very relaxing.
As of right now......We are still trying to make a decision about this year's vacation.....
Will it be a Summer trip?..... A Fall trip? A Summer trip and a Fall trip?
or......No trip at all??
We shall see......
Blessings....

Outer Space Do
I am so in Love with you Lord....I am thankful for your steadfast love.
****
What does your day hold for you? It's hair day for me......oh yes, a much needed hair day.
I was pushing it just a bit, by making my appointment for last Wednesday, but that night, I woke up around mid-night .....up-chucking, and I had to cancel the appt. I had to extend my hair appointment out even further......like until today.
Not a good thing!!
It's not a good thing to have the top portion of your hair a completely different color from the rest of your hair! You girls know exactly what I'm talking about here.......especially if you're over the age of 40.

Did you know that you don't even have to travel to Mars to get a "do" like this one.
Naw........I just have to travel about 10 miles to get this outer-space look.
Isn't this lovely??
And the results.......
Exactly.....what I was wanting!!
Goodness......I can't begin to tell you how much better I feel, to have my hair done.
What's next on my agenda for today.....
Nothing, absolutely nothing.
I may try to highlight my sun tan a wee bit this afternoon.......I may have me a glass or two of ice cold lemonade.....BUT, that's about all that this girl plans to do.
It's a ME day!!
Blessings Y'all...

Old Ladders and Burlap
I discovered something new this past weekend........Ladders have a whole lot of importance!!!!
I'm talking about Old Wooden Ladders! I can not imagine a home, without one.
I'm talking about Old Wooden Ladders! I can not imagine a home, without one.
And.......I also discovered that Burlap is making a huge comeback from years past.
Who would ever figure that I went on a hunt for both of these things today.......
I found the burlap......NO PROBLEM AT ALL,
but finding an old wooden ladder is a bit harder to find.
What I'm needing is a 6 ft. OLD wooden ladder and I know that there is one that is stuffed away in some one's barn......and it has my name on it.
Without a doubt.....I know I will find one. Only problem is that I want it right now!
This is the very reason that I cannot sew.......When I start something, I want it finished, RIGHT THEN.
Ok....back to the ladder and the burlap. The crafty side of my brain is finally waking up after having been in hibernation for a few years. I can picture IT now......this perfect piece of work that will soon hang in my kitchen.
I made a trip to Hobby Lobby today and I found exactly what I needed, (minus the ladder)
I really hope to have this project finished SOON!!
Until then.......????????

Acting our Age......for the day!
I often wonder if Trista and Shanda have any idea just how Blessed they are to have such
CRAZY parents?!
These two girls of ours never know what to expect from us. One day we may be 25 and the next ......we may act more like we are 70 years old.
I'll tell you though......it is fun! Fun to be able to enjoy your life with the one you Love.
Guess you could say that some days we are diamonds......other times, we are stone age! Yesterday.......was one of those days that we were more like 80. Our daughter #3 and son #3 (Pastor Mark....and Calecia) where over, visiting the BEST parents in the world.......ME and Sam!!
Calecia was telling us about this App on our phones that would allow us to keep up with the calories that we eat each day (My Fitness Pal)
Oh geez.....Sam and I were so excited! Finally, we both would be able to keep up with the calories burned off from exercising.....and the calories that we intake each day.
UNTIL....we started acting our age (for that day)......which was about 80.
I say, we were excited until, I couldn't remember my Apple password.
I knew I had it written down, so I have to pull out my 20 journal books and start flipping pages, trying to find those sweet little letters that were going to let me download this App.
Before I know it, Sam has logged into my google account, thinking that he was getting into his own google account, and lo and behold.....HE HAS NOW CHANGED MY PASSWORD ON MY ACCOUNT.
At this point, I can't get into my Apple account or my Google account. To make matters worse, Sam couldn't remember the password that he had used to replace the old password on my account. HAVE I CONFUSED EVERYONE????
Calecia and Mark are now......cracking up, because not only could we NOT remember the passwords.....but we now had a big, huge, mess mixed up. At this point, our kids #3 should have taken our phones and computers and put them in the trash!
Thankfully, Calecia took Sam's phone away from him and started all over again. With a little time and patience, she finally got it all back in place and new passwords were set up for both of us.
See.......this definitely was an 80 year old day. Today, we are back down to being the good ol' age of 79. Tomorrow......who knows?? 25 sounds good to me!!

Walking in the Rain
Oh my goodness y'all.......did I ever have the time of my life this past evening. I spent about 4 hours painting...
Yes......I said PAINTING!
It all started right here!! This is my painting crew, plus Shanda Kay.....who was taking the picture.
We attended a class at "Pinot's Palette" in Tyler, and it was more fun than singing with a barrel of monkeys...
First things first.....I had to find my center focal point and then do some preliminary sketches of my lady.....who is going to be walking in the rain...
Since it was my first time to paint here.....I tried to follow along. I could have used different colors in the lady's dress and the umbrella, but I was a little too insecure about my painting abilities to venture in that direction.....especially since I wasn't even sure if I'd be able to pull this photo off without messing up.
The painting on the left is mine and the one with the gorgeous orange colored umbrella, belongs to Shanda. Trista was painting on the other side of me, but she had taken her beautiful piece just around the corner, when we took photo.
Both my girls, Brandi, and Anna (the other ladies in our party) did an exceptionally good job with each of their paintings. It was amazing to see how each person's painting looked so different.....
and here it is........ My painting...
Please don't look real close.......I wouldn't want you to see my mistakes!!
Honestly.......I'm very pleased with what I accomplished......
Now......where to hang it???
Hugs Y'all.....
