Wa, La......the perfect dessert.

We have beautiful sunshine, right here in the good ol' state of Texas.....East Texas that is!
I'm almost sure that the lake is going to be buzzing today with plenty of folks enjoying all kinds of water activities.   I might.....Might.....possibly go over to Tom and Shanda's ....to hop in the pool.

Mylee and I did a little "Paula Dean" cooking, this past Friday.  I wanted to make Paula's
"Chocolate Chip Pie" for our Church Dessert Contest, but since I had never made it before, I  thought a practice pie might just be in order.

This pie is sooooo simple and even though I am not a huge fan of chocolate chip desserts, I decided that this would be a gooood pie to take.

My little helper would definitely be giving this recipe two thumbs up.  Here she is.....licking the mixing bowl.

I will admit.....it looks pretty yummy....!    In the oven it went and in NO time at all.....this pie was smelling so delicious.

and here it is.......A warm, chocolate filled pie.

Just add some whipped topping, chocolate chunks, and a little chocolate syrup......and
Wa, La.......you have a perfect dessert!!

When all was said and done, I chose NOT to go with this dessert, for the church Memorial Day Celebration.   Instead.....I made the "Princess Pie" that I blogged about a few weeks ago.

Needless to say......I did not win!  :(

But.....there were plenty of great desserts there.

Next time.......  I'll be making  this chocolate chip pie!!

Enjoy your day.....Be safe.....and stay happy!

Oops......I almost forgot to post the recipe!!!   Sorry!

  1. For someone watching her weight and trying to diet, your blog KILLS me.... That chocolate chip pie looks so good. I COULD eat it --but since it is at your house, I'll let you have those calories this time. Dang it.

    Happy Memorial Day.

  3. Oh, wow, does that ever look good! I could eat a slice right now.

Mylee is such a cutie and I'm sure a big helper in licking those bowls!

My son banished me from the kitchen a little bit ago. He's making up something new to grill. It involves chicken breasts, jalapeno peppers, colby jack cheese, cream cheese and bacon! We've been waiting for the rains to end soon so we can grill. Hope you've had a great day!

  6. Let me say, that I would find this a winner, baked or unbaked! Sounds fabulous. I am definitely a fan of chocolate chip desserts. We used to make a batch of chocolate chip cookie dough and make one pan baked and eat out of the bowl from the fridge the rest of the week! Those were the good old days!
