Are you a listener?  Someone who doesn't always have to have something to say, yet learns so much just from listening?

This is me!  Ooops, let me do a U-turn on that
statement......I like to listen, and I LOVE to talk!

The other day, I heard someone say that they are "learning to be content".....this got me to thinking!  I'm now 49 and holding, and just what is it that I have learned in life?

Here are just a few of the things that I have learned....

*With God on my side, I am victorious.....
*Be yourself....don't worry about keeping up with the Jones'
*Not everybody cares!  Just because I care, doesn't mean others are going to care too!
*Don't compare yourself to others....be Yourself!
*It takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it!
*Simple things are usually BEST!
*You can't make someone love you....you just have to
be a person that can be loved.
* When you take time to stop and smell the roses,
you learn to appreciate life.
* We can choose to control our attitude or our
attitude will control us!
* You are only as old as you feel!  I feel young!
* I don't want to hunt gators for a living.
*  I love to write.
* Never say you won't do something...because you don't know what the future holds.
* I can lean on the Lord.
* It's nice to feel my heart beat when I smile.
* Don't use the past to judge.
* I have the best friends in the world.

* I have much more to learn.

Enjoy your day!

  2. LIfe is a constant learning. Many of those things are ones I have learned as well and I'm working on some of the others. Oh to be more of a listener.

  3. I'm learning to listen. I think I get tired of talking and bored with just my opinion. I like to hear what others have to say and love to argue with a liberal or an atheist! :)

  4. Great list. I love your optimism and love of life. I'm more of a quiet, reflective person and feel I am judged more negatively because of it. My husband says he enjoys that I'm not much of a talker. But he's not either, so it can get a little boring at the dinner table. Anyway, I wish I was more vivacious and outgoing (like you), but that is not the way I'm made, so I just need to accept it.

  5. Your biggest message is Be Yourself and Love yourself as you are, with God's Help...

These days (since I am older), I have learned to work MUCH harder on my weight and health than I did when I was younger..

I have also learned not to sweat the little things. I was a perfectionist --or tried to be, and now I am much more relaxed and don't worry so much about things..

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  6. I like "Never say you won't do something...because you don't know what the future holds" I have repeated that statement many times to my children. My daughter told me just a few weeks ago she now understands why I live by this statement. My mom would say you will eat your words one day. I think it meaning is about the same. Thanks for sharing today.
