What I've Learned....

Woo Hoo...Woo Hoo....Woo Hoo!

The Family room floor is FINISHED!

We have been living in some Topsy Turvy surroundings
for the past two months, and I can certainly testify that
it is NOT fun.

Everything sounds so good when you start the process of a remodeling project, but then, it quickly becomes CHAOS!!

Take the floors for example....Eddie, my floor guy says "I'll be there Monday, and it should only take a couple of days."

And, somehow things don't always work out the way they plan.
First, let me say....it wasn't his fault that the supplier did not pull the wood out of the warehouse and let it be acclimating over the weekend!  So, this is something that we had to do!  Two days of acclimating...

Then....another day to float the floor and let it dry.  (Unexpected)
And finally, the floor is in!   It is now Friday, and I have to put this place back together before the weekend....BTW, Eddie did an excellent job!  Thanks Eddie!!

I might be a little tired by night time, but hopefully the chaos will be over for a few weeks.....Still have some kitchen work to do and my contractor is on another job at this time.  I surely can wait 4 more weeks (or 5 or 6) to have it all completed!!

Did I mention that I am the kind of person that likes to get things done?  YEP....Mrs. Impatient here!  I like to get projects going and get them finished in a VERY TIMELY matter.......

Got time on your hands today???
Swing on by and I'll put you to work....

Life is good and I pray that you all are filled
with happiness today!

  5. Hi Shug!

This scares me! I am getting ready to put in new floors in my dining room, living room, and kitchen!! We are also putting in new cupboards and counter tops in the kitchen - hope we don't have any delays!

Your pictures are very pretty - I love your floors! I also love the black and white header pictures - so cute!!

  6. Yes, remodeling is a hairy experience, but when it's over, so satisfying! Those cabinets on the right side of your picture are EXACTLY like mine except for the color; mine is a darker wood. Wow. Enjoy your new floors!

  7. Sounds like we are "two peas in a pod." I wanted most things done "yesterday." We've lived through new wood flooring all while continuing to live in the house. Never again! Just about sent me over the edge. :o)

    Blessings for a great weekend!
