A Fresh Coat of New Paint...

When I first saw this picture, I fell in love with it.....

A pink mailbox!  It's the pink that makes it special, makes it

stand out, so to speak.......Just an old mailbox on an old country

road......Would it had even have been noticed if not for the PINK?

This is a great time to pause and to take notice of those things

around us.....There are little pockets of happiness everywhere

in our daily walk....We need to learn to appreciate

beauty in the simple things of life....

There is a bigger picture for us all.

It is when we take the time to notice all these simple things,

that we surround ourselves with great encouragement....

I pray that I will find Hope in all things...that I will see a

refreshing coat of "New Paint"  all around me.....

How Beautiful it is to be Alive!!

I pray that your life will  be covered with a
canopy of Blessings.....

Memories...

Happy Birthday Shanda......

Happy Birthday to our "Baby" girl!

Yep.....34 years ago today, our beautiful daughter "Shan" was born.....

The beginning of some wonderful Memories with daughter #2.

Speaking of memories, this was also a day for another happening......One that my sweet husband

will never, ever....FORGET!!

**

You see......I was scheduled for SURGERY just a few hours after Shanda was born.

She was born around 5:30 that morning and it had been a long night......Since we only lived about

20 minutes away from the hospital, Sam decided to run home...take a shower...grab some things,

and be back at the hospital by 8:00 A.M.

My parents were away on a trip, so I was there at the hospital by myself at this time......

Around 10:00 the nurse comes in to give me a shot to help me relax before my surgery.

I remember entering the surgery room and I could hear a nurse ask me if there was

anyone with me?    I responded that my husband would be there very soon....

SOON????      Not only did I have surgery and go to recovery, but I was back in

my room and AWAKE by the time Sam walks in the door!!

Seems that back at home,  he had decided to lay down for (JUST A FEW MINUTES)

A few minutes turned into HOURS!!

I was really in too much pain to be mad at him!!

Believe me when I say that this is a memory that he nor I have ever forgotten.......

~ ~ ~

Shan is not the only one that receives a gift on Her Birthday...

(Wander what I'll get this year??)

Shanda....hope your day is filled with Blessings...

Love you Sweetie!!

What a Beautiful Day that the Lord has made....

Blessings,

Shug

Walking Tall....

Walking Tall......

I have always wanted to be TALL......

There are so many advantages when it comes to being Tall...

for one, you can see things that most of us can not see....

Another thing, is that you can actually reach dishes that are

in the top of the cabinets......I am 5'4" and at this height, I can not

even reach the top shelf of my closet......

BUT....this is not really the kind of TALL that I am talking about today..

When it comes to our CHRISTIAN WALK,  we need to walk tall...

Whether we realize it or not, we are being watched....People in the "World"

are watching those of us who are Christians....They watch the things that

we do...they watch how we act when we are out in public...they watch our

reactions to many of the situations that happen in life.

Not only that, but our children and grandchildren are watching us....They pick up on little things

that we sometimes fail to recognize as even being a part of what we do each day....

Words we say, the way we manage our households, our habits of serving the Lord, and how we

treat our friends and those that we are around.....

One of the first things that we need to do each day is to put on those "HIGH HEEL SHOES"

and walk TALL not only for ourselves, but for those that are watching us!

Sweet Blessings,

A Brand New Look!

Summer Fun!!!!

                     *********
A Brand New Look......
I am in desperate need of a facelift on my blog....This is something that I have been trying to get done for some time now....

The problem is that I just have not had any  EXTRA TIME  lately....Our home is a miniature "Grand Central Station."  Of Course.....Sam and I love it this way!  Only difference is that this miniature GCS serves lunch, snacks, and sometimes dinner!   Wouldn't change it..........

We have three grandchildren that play two ballgames (EACH) per week....another grandson that plays select baseball on the weekends, and the oldest is playing on a Summer basketball team.  His team also plays on the weekends....Love watching these kids play ball and don't like missing their games!

And of course, we have Sunday church and Wednesday night church.....

I would be interested to know how each of you spend your time blogging....do you wake up each morning and decide what you are going to write, or do you have it already prepared and saved to a draft?

How much time do you spend on your blog?  Writing, Reading, doing research, posting pictures, changing the background, or commenting?

I have always been a morning writer...I get up and write what is on my mind....This means that I have to delay reading and commenting until late at night.....This leaves little time for a FACELIFT!

Summer is here and I think I will have more time to enjoy my blog..... ! @??

But....I would love to know how you work out your schedule for blogging.....

I have not missed one single day of blogging since I started this journey and I am very excited about this.....Hope to continue posting every day....

A new facelift is coming.....hopefully soon, but in the mean time, I would love to hear about your blogging time....

This is going to be a great weekend....Enjoy!

Blessings,

Shug ~

The Big Fight

What are those old sayings?  Something like......"My husband is in the building business, but our home addition is not finished yet!"  or  "My husband is in the plumbing business, but my shower is still dripping!"

I think you are beginning to get my point here...

Well.....My sweet husband is in the Nursery Business......

Which requires a lot of IRRIGATION.....

Which means the last thing he wants to do when he gets home is to work on my "Old fashioned Sprinkler System"

My system is the one in the bottom left hand corner of the above picture.....NO, I don't have those little pop- up sprinklers that run during the night when one is soundly sleeping.

So.....this brings me to the big fight!!

Don't get me wrong....Sam and I did not have a big fight...(We have outgrown these kind of things.....so NO fights here)

The fight was with ME, the SPRINKLERS and the WATER HOSE.....

I was trying to make sure that all my new flowers  had plenty of water, when the water hose decided to pop off of the sprinkler.....My first thought was "What in the world!".....Little did I know that my sweet husband had cut the hose and rigged it with some kind of wire and screw to connect it to that part of the hose that attaches to the facet!

I suppose this next part was my fault because I attempted to put it back together with the water still turned on....But hey, I had the hose squeezed!

You can only imagine what happened next!
I suddenly was drenched with COLD water....

I sure wish I had a picture to show you. Of course, my camera would be ruined by now...

This was not the end......Just as I completed my task at hand, and had turned to walk away....the sprinkler turned over and guess which way it was pointing?  AT ME!
As I turned around, the middle part of the sprinkler shot water directly at my face!

You all know that I can't swim....but at this point, my arms were moving and my legs were kicking...If the water had been deep, I think I could have learned to swim.....

Today.....I am going to purchase a brand new WATER HOSE and Sam is forbidden to touch it....

Hope you all have a Blessed Day!

Shug sez:  I think I see a sprinkler system coming my way in the near future!!

Hugs,

Shug ~

In The Dog House....

The Dog House is occupied.....Just take a guess!

This time it's NOT being occupied by Sam!

                                                                         It's Bella.....

OMG.....am I ever not happy with this little lady.....

Seems that she is becoming territorial.....and the new flowers are in her way....

As fast as I plant my flowers....she digs them up!
And she doesn't like "dusty miller" at all!  Not only does she dig these up, but she stomps them to pieces...

For me it's like throwing money away...

Bella kinda got a spanking for her behavior and I thought that would be the end of her digging....WRONG!

As soon as I turned my back, she was pulling up the flowers AGAIN!

When I scold her, she just stares at me with her big eye (she only has one eye) and turns her head back and forth like she doesn't understand what I'm saying!

I am determined to win here, so if she has to spend the night "In The Dog House," then so be it.....

What is the deal....Have any of you ever had this problem before?

OK...I'm on my way out to PLANT again....Guess we will soon see who rules the back yard!

Have a Blessed Day!

School Is "ALMOST" out......

June 2nd......Last day of school!
{I know...I know....June 2nd is tomorrow}

Time for a Break!!

I'm thinking they need to go back to the way it use to be....
When I was young, school never started until after Labor Day, and school was out around the middle of May.....
~ ~
Honestly, the "BIG" test is over by the end of April, so what else is there to learn....The entire focus from the start of school is based entirely upon "THE TEST" and once it's over, the kids are in desperate need of a vacation.

Today is awards day at most of the schools in our district.....Carson's is at 9:00.... Tucker's is at 11:00..... and Trey's is at 12:00.....
(Oh....did I mention that they are not all in the same school building?)

Tori's is tomorrow!

WOW......Will I be able to make them all???  Believe me, my grandchildren will know if I'm not there!

The outside temp is going to be around 95 degrees today, and what sounds good is the lake or swimming in the pool...not running around from school to school.....

But.....a (Shug) has to do what a (Shug) has to do and that is to chase grandkids around today.....

Much to do, Much to do.....so I'll have to stop by later to visit with you.......

Have a Blessed Day......

Shug ~
