Mama Said There'd Be NIGHTS Like This....

And did I hear this right?

Thanksgiving is only about a week and a half away?  Please tell me  it's not true....

Not only will I have about six stitches in my hand, but my kitchen is kinda out of order at this time...

Say Hello to Shug's Kitchen!!

The "Tawanda" in me finally let loose and tore out the kitchen cabinets!......Oh, it's true alright.

Yesterday morning, these walls were full of beautiful white cabinets...Today, the walls look like this.

I must admit, every single slam of the sledge hammer felt really gooooood!  I now know the thrill that Kathy Bates must have  engaged upon in the filming of "Fried Green Tomatoes."

Not to worry, I haven't lost my mind...yet.
I had a lot of help in the destruction of my kitchen....My younger brother "Joe" was there with me....He is an excellent builder and he is helping me update my kitchen....

I can assure you that this project will not be finished by Thanksgiving....maybe not even by Christmas, but when it is finished, I know I will love it!

When I start a project, I kinda want it finished right now and then....Not this time!  I'm gonna take my time to make sure I get the finished look that I have pictured in my mind......This is the reason I can't sew very well...I want (whatever) it is I'm working on to be DONE..FINISHED....like immediately!

Guess this is why I am sitting here in the dark at 3:00 A.M. writing this post...I CAN'T SLEEP! Way too much rolling through my mind....

But hey, Mama said there'd be NIGHTS like this!!

Sending Hugs to each of you!

Shug.....

  7. You go Twanda!! Love that movie, btw. What a brave soul you are to take a sledge hammer to your kitchen. I want to do it, too, but with my job in jeopardy, I'd better hold off. Can't wait to see your finished kitchen! Are you getting granite? That's one thing I really, really want!

  10. Hi Shug, Wow---talk about a kitchen make-over... BUT--why didn't you wait 'til January???? Guess you take the help when you can get it.

Maybe this year, one or both of those gorgeous daughters can have both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at their homes.... Pass around the responsibility ---and you just enjoy yourself this year (letting others do all of the work)....
    Hugs,
    Betsy
