Love What You Do....

Do what you love.....it's what you were meant to do!!

I really CAN see the truth in these words...can you?

Honestly speaking here...if you are doing something that you really love to do, chances are that you will do it well....I can just see success written all over the place.

My "Honey" loves "PICKING".....and I think he does it well! (After all, He picked ME)....think I smile about that one! He works a full time job, but on the side...He loves "Picking."

You have to understand, that a picker works hard to establish a following of customers, and he/she must know the antique business very well....

For the picker, it's the thrill of the hunt that gives them the drive to hunt and dig in
places that most of us would not bother to look..or to withstand temperatures that are sweltering hot or freezing cold...

A picker enthusiasts embraces the treasures that he/she comes across.... they get their buzz just by finding something from the past.... and then they turn it...for $$$$$$

Occasionally, one will hold on to their find and store it with the rest of their prized possessions....

Let me share with you a few of the things that my "Honey" found this weekend....

A grind stone for sharpening knifes....

This old wash tub...tubs

Old Kerosene Heater...

I must say, Picking is a lot of FUN and I can really understand why Sam enjoys it so much....

Here is a picture of my "Honey".....the Picker!

I hope he will continue to do what he loves .....this is what He was meant to do!!!

Hey Y'all....thanks for visiting me today.......Enjoy your day, and stay cool!      Our expected temperature today....112 degrees!

Blessings,

  1. I agree totally with you. And I'm so happy your husband is able to do what he loves. Now he just needs to get his own show!
I do love watching both "Canadian Pickers" and "American Pickers" program.
I remember that grind stone from watching my grandpa sharpen his knives on one before butchering.
    Great post!

  2. 112 degrees for real and not just the heat index? WOW!!! You have changed your header and I love it. I thought your husband owned a huge nursery, he also runs an antique mall? Is that what you do with these things? Do you ever want to keep any? I would be in heaven! The grindstone is actually beautiful!

  4. Yes---we all need to do things that we love and enjoy... So many people get in jobs they cannot stand --and then feel as if they can't get out of them. OR--even marriages.... SO SAD....

Yes---we need to LOVE what we do.
    Hugs,
    Betsy
