Big News!

Woo...Hoo...!     I have some BIG news to tell!

Maybe it's just a CONFESSION!

As they say......Confessions are good for the soul....

I COOKED YESTERDAY!

Not only did I cook, but I cooked an entire meal!

Yes Mam....Yes Sir.....that is exactly what I said...

This is my big NEWS!

NO sandwiches, no hot dogs, no hamburgers,

and "NO"..... McAllisters!!

No Subway Sandwiches!

No Subway pizza and No salads....

NO Fruit bowls, and NO take out.....

and I'm sure you are saying  "What's the big deal?"

The big deal is that I haven't cooked in FOREVER!!

Nada.....Nothing....Not one single thing!!

Oh wait.....I did cook a brisket for our "Pastor" the other day!  Does that count?  It wasn't for my family and it was too easy...added a few spices and threw it in the oven...

********

Anyways........I woke up yesterday morning and decided to surprise SAM..

I cooked.... Golden Mushroom Chicken, Fresh Green Beans, Candied Sweet Potatoes, Fresh Bread, Iced Cold Tea, and Warm Buttery Bread Pudding!!

*****************

   AND NOW FOR THE CONFESSION!!

OK...Ok....my hands are finally well, but the family doesn't have to know all my secrets, DO THEY?

I suppose I'll now be back in the kitchen, FULL TIME.....      I really do love to cook!!

Some good recipes to come!

Looks like it could be a stormy day....Be safe and enjoy your Friday..

Sweet Blessings,

Shug

  3. Hello Shug! I am so glad you found my blog!!
    Yours is pretty awesome too!!
We have much in common, but 2 things I have to say!
1- YES, everyone needs a pink mailbox!
2- Patience is my word for the year! I aways pck a word, ant try to apply it to my actions that year. Last month was positive thinking. Do I always succeed? NO!! But having a word of the year makes me constantly monitor my actions. I just moved into a new home the same time I started blogging (3ish months ago) and patience has been VERY HARD!!!!! I love that you brought that up!!

You sound like an AWESOME cook!!

  4. Sounds like a yummy meal, Shug! To tell the truth, I don't cook like I used to (and I don't have an excuse!) but I love to collect recipes and would like to know what's in your Golden Mushroom Chicken. Glad your hands healed up nicely. Have a great weekend!

  6. Good grief girlfriend....who were you trying to impress....surely not Sam. Since he put his high school picture on FB you must have remembered how your heart went "pitterpatter" when you saw him way back when!! Know he enjoyed it and would almost bet some of the kids did also. You all have a big time tomorrow night and remember there might be a highway patrol on 2661 so please drive sober!!!
