Whispers In The Morning.....Continued

Whispers In The Morning....Continued...

Yes....It was the gentle whispers in the morning that Blessed my heart beyond measure.....

I do have a story to tell and I certainly hope that you will bear with me for the next couple of days as I share with you about the gentle whispers that I heard speaking to the depth of my soul...

I apologize in advance, for the possibility of taking you on what might seem to be a roller coaster ride with lots of twist and turns.....

I was deeply honored to be invited to the "6th Annual Ladies Spring Luncheon" for Breckenridge Village of Tyler. Breckenridge Village is a home for some precious people that are challenged with special needs.

I was invited to sit at a table that was decorated by my very good friend Linda... Linda is the coordinator of BVT and is in charge of raising scholarship funds for those that can not afford the total fee that is required to live at the village....

This luncheon is just one of the many things that she does to raise money for the scholarship fund.  I will tell you,  those that are able to give towards this fund, are truly making a difference in the lives of some very special people...

Cleta Allen was the accomplished guest harpist and her music was absolutely beautiful.  If you have never heard a harpist play, then I would encourage you to set a goal to do so...Such a sweet, sweet sound.  Cleta's music brought forth a joyful spirit that would prepare each of hearts for the words to be spoken by the guest speaker.

Brenda Warner, wife of Kurt Warner (NFL player, winner of two NFL MVP awards, super bowl MVP and numerous other awards) was the honored guest speaker for the day... Her titles:  speaker, philanthropist, New York Times best-selling author, registered nurse, Marine, mother of seven, MOTHER OF A SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD, and all the other titles that goes along with being a mom...

Brenda has a testimony that all should here.  She encourages her audiences to take responsibility for their choices and to depend on Faith when they hit rough patches in the road of life....

Again, I was honored!  My name tag was sitting right there, at the same table as both of these talented women.....
I will tell you that my cup runneth over right now

I do want to share more with you about the gentle whispers that spoke softly to my soul, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.....Hope you will visit me then and bring a tissue or two....

Many Blessings to each you....

Shug.........

Below are just a few photos from the luncheon....

Favors given at the table I was originally suppose to sit at....So, guess what....I was Blessed with two favors....My hand is the one  with the pink nail polish.  Next to my hand with the turquoise saint is my daughter Trista's hand....

  1. Girl, you really were in the right place at the right time. I can't wait to hear about everything and the pictures are very nice. I wish I could decorate like that!
Thanks so much for the encouraging comment you left on my blog. There have been few comments left on that post. I think a lot of people are uncomfortable with the subject. Thanks again for putting yourself out there.

  4. Hi Shug..
It sounds like you had a lovely time AND you are right when you say "My beautiful daughter"..because she is stunning! From your photo, as small as it is, it is obvious that she gets her looks from you.

I just wanted to write and say this about your comment on my post. I have found that usually, like follows like. Usually when a blogger has certain obvious interests, they find others with the same interests to follow. As you find bloggers with your interests and visit them they will come to you to see what you have to say..and sometimes show. (those rings were really great, by the way! :)

I went quite awhile with very little interest. I think one of the mistakes many make is trying to follow everyone who decides to follow them...and when this happens...it makes it rather difficult because often you don't know what the other person is talking about.

People who sew, play music, work in their churches, wedding planners, Crafters...and so on. It's hard. It really is.

That is why followers come and go. Mine go up and then down again. Yes, it sometimes makes you feel funny. I wanted to say bad..but..for me that has passed..but it never fails to have an effect. Like you, I feel I have let them down and they left because of it.

Blogger only allows so many followers per blog.
I found that out the hard way.

This is way too long...but I hope you understand what I am trying to say. Hang in there my dear. You are doing great. You give of yourself..and that is what counts to all of us.
    Hugs and love,
    Mona
