Love Is A Good Thing ~

Valentines Day 2011........

I listened to my heart and that made all the difference!

Sam and I have been sweethearts for over 40 years now.  It all began on March 13, 1968 when he first ask me to GO STEADY....and, this journey in life has been so incredible!!

He is the Love of my life...my soulmate....my Best friend...

I am Blessed to have him as my HUSBAND..

You all know how super sentimental I am......This shadow box holds every letter that Sam has written to me since we were Freshman's in High School, way back in 1968.

I just can't help it!  How could I possibly throw them away?
Never, Never...I adore them.

How beautiful is this....Sam sent this to me in 1970.

"Pledging My Love To You"

Makes my heart pound, EVEN TO THIS DAY!

I keep these cards and notes FRAMED and hanging on a wall in our Bedroom...

......~ And, someday I'll find a place for all the other {almost 400} cards that he has given to me over the past 40 years...  ...

Several years ago, Sam bought me this picture of a beautiful Rose...
I love it and it too hangs in our bedroom.

Valentines is certainly a wonderful day .....especially if you have someone special in your life.....

Of course, everyday is special when you spend it with someone
You Love ~

I love that old song by the Statler Brothers, "I'll Go To My Grave Loving You"

I could have written these lyrics myself and if I had, I would have written them to
my one true love......Sam!

Love you Sweetie....

I'll go to my Grave lovin' you

I'll lay down my life lovin' you

And when life calls us both above
Honey, you'll know that you've been loved
for I'll go to my grave lovin' you.....

Happy Valentine's day!!

  5. Awesome song from the Statler Bros. And do you know what you have? Unconditional Love. It is rare, and I see you are hanging on with ease. Love that you have kept all the cards, letters, and framed them so lovingly. Have a wonderful day of surprises. I hopped over from my sister Cher's at CherShots. Glad I came.

  7. Hi Shug!

I don't know why, but your post just brought tears to my eyes! Maybe it's because my husband and I were highschool sweethearts too - I have loved him most of my life! We have been married for almost 37 years, but I have loved him for about 40 years! You two are a beautiful couple! I love the idea of framing the cards - I have sooooo many, and the letter box, absolutely precious! True love prevails!!

    Happy Valentine's Day Shug!

    Hugs,
    Barb
