Need or Greed?

Happy Monday!....

"A Bird in your hand is worth more than two in the bush"....
or something like that.

You probably will find this hard to believe, but I had never heard this before.  Sam made this comment a couple of weeks ago, and then I heard it again this past week....

I now know that it is a statement referring to the fact that if you have a bird in your hand, then you know you have your evening meal.  If you become greedy and go after two birds in a bush, then both of the birds may fly away and you end up with nothing but hunger!

It's all about what we already have versus what is present outside of our possession, meaning it could be a relevant risk.

I have to ask myself this question....Do I let the economy define my life?  Am I content and can I accept what I have?

First of all, I think one must determine what is the meaning of a need?  What is the meaning of greed?

I believe that need is a condition requiring relief.  Greed is taking more than what is necessary and by doing so we deny others from having what they may need.

Our society is infected with greed.  It is as if there is this constant unsatisfying desire for MORE.  Take for example our homes.....Do we provide love, comfort and security or  is it our goal to impress with bling?  Are we trapped because we are trying to show people that we have the BEST of what ever is out there? 

I think that I prefer knowing that I have that one bird in my hand....My goal is to be more content with what I have in life.

Need I say more?
