Another 18th Birthday Celebrated

Good Thursday Morning to all my friends!!

What a Blessing!  Last night, we celebrated a very special birthday with a very special young lady.....

Taylor.......(my niece that lives with Sam and I)

No one could be more deserving of a surprise birthday party than Taylor......

And, what a surprise it was.....I had to work very hard to get this all planned and I could not have done it without her cousin Kadie and the rest of the "Training Staff".  This is the fourth year for most of them, to be on the training staff for the High School Athletic program....
They are a close group of kids and I am very proud of all of them......Oh, I forgot that her boyfriend Colin helped.  He made sure she got there AFTER everyone else....

Taylor called me yesterday and wanted to know if some of the girls could come spend the night.  Of course, I had to tell a little white lie!  I told her that Sam and I already had plans and that we would not be home until later in the evening and that we didn't want a bunch of kids here while we were out.....(I don't like fibbing)  She was polite, just as usual and said OK.

There was not one glitch in pulling this surprise party together.  As you can see by her face, she cried!  I am not exactly positive, but I feel like this may have been the only surprise party she has ever had.   She was so pleased with her Cookie Cake.....and I must say...it was Yummy!

Taylor, counting her money!

She is thrilled over her new rain boots.....

Some of the kids!!  And Mylee Jo!

They all had a wonderful time...

* Just a note about Taylor..........

The 18th birthday is a very special birthday for any of us...It would have been wonderful if her parents or grandparents could have been here to celebrate this day with her.

I know that I have mentioned this before, but Taylor's dad passed away when she was 3 and her mom died when she was 11.  Taylor has come a very long way, and life has been a bit difficult at times.  She lived in three other homes before coming to live with Sam and I, and she has now  been with us for almost  a year and a half.

We are Blessed by having her here.  Taylor has made many changes and she is determined to make the best out of life.  She is a senior and not only is she dedicated to the training program at school, she also has a part time job.  When school starts, she will be on the work program and already has a job at the school...Many hours go into her day, and yet she is still able to maintain A's and a few B's in her classes .......

Sam and I have tried very hard to teach her about the importance of loving God, loving herself, and loving other people.  We hope that we have instilled in her the importance of making good choices in life....By doing so, I know that she will have a bright future ahead.....

Happy 18th Birthday Taylor!

Pops and Shug.........

If you see someone with a need, open your heart and do what you can to help them...I promise, you will be Blessed!
